The Story of
Arizona Autism United
Founded as a family-focused nonprofit agency in 2006, AZA United has been serving thousands of Arizona families for more than 20 years. Our mission is to help as many families as possible with individualized supports, and our promise is to elevate the standard of care for the autism community.
Our Mission & Vision
We envision a future where everyone affected by autism can access individualized, barrier-free support to achieve a high quality of life. We are a statewide organization that serves individuals with autism across their lifespan, responding swiftly and effectively to evolving needs. With invaluable guidance from parents, we address community challenges by developing innovative and compassionate solutions.
We recognize that each family and individual defines success differently, and our role is to provide the resources and support to help them achieve their goals
How We Started
Arizona Autism United (AZA United) was founded in 2006 by Dr. Aaron Blocher-Rubin and a group of local families who recognized a shortage of quality care. Their vision was to create a nonprofit dedicated to providing high-quality services and support for children and families in need.
From the beginning, AZA United prioritized parent and family involvement in shaping and improving the organization. What started with a single staff member has grown into a large multidisciplinary statewide organization that employs hundreds of clinical professionals and support staff, and thousands of direct care providers. Together the members of Team AZA provide critical services and therapies to thousands of individuals every day across the valley and state, along with a wide range of family support activities and community engagement initiatives.
Parents continue to play a vital in shaping the priorities and strategic direction of the organization in roles such as board members, committee leaders and volunteers, ensuring family-centered care remains at the core of our mission. Working together, we remain focused on helping today and building tomorrow.

Your donation directly supports families affected by autism by funding vital programs, therapy services, and resources that empower individuals to reach their full potential, ensuring no family navigates autism alone.
