What is the Tax Credit?
Arizona provides a unique opportunity for supporters to make a donation to a Qualified Charity and receive the full amount back as a tax credit (up to the annual maximum amounts). This program is known as the Charitable Organization Tax Credit program, which allows taxpayers to control where part of their tax dollars go by donating to specific charitable organizations, reducing your tax bill (or increasing your refund) by the same amount. Tax credits are better than tax deductions because they reduce the full amount you donate, whereas tax deductions only reduce your taxable income. For 2026, the AZ Charitable Org Tax Credit limits are $506 for individuals and $1009 for married couples filing jointly.
