Staff Bio - Erica Skepnek

Dr. Erica Skepnek is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Senior Director of Psychological & Diagnostic Services.  She completed her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in Illinois, and her internship and residency training experiences were completed in California.  She obtained her license, relocated to Arizona, and began working with another local autism nonprofit in 2011.  She was welcomed to the AZA United team in 2021, where she developed and launched the diagnostic services program.  

Dr. Skepnek has been working in the field of autism for almost two decades in a variety of different capacities.  Her experience has mainly focused on building, managing, and refining diagnostic services for individuals with autism and other developmental and emotional/behavioral disabilities, although she has also provided individual, family, and group therapy, facilitated social and vocational programming, and developed life and social skills curriculum for individuals with autism.  Her primary responsibilities include the completion of diagnostic evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental, emotional, and behavioral disorders as well as the development, oversight, and management of counseling and diagnostic services. 

Dr. Skepnek is passionate about providing services to individuals with autism and their families throughout the lifespan and has particular expertise in evaluating and treating older adolescents and adults.
