Dr. Aaron Blocher-Rubin has been working in the field of autism treatment for nearly 20 years, and has a young adult brother with autism. He has been the CEO of Arizona Autism United, a leading autism nonprofit organization in Arizona, since the organization started in 2006. He is a licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He holds a PhD in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He was recognized in 2014 as the Nonprofit Director of the Year by the Organization for Nonprofit Executives, and is a past president of the Arizona Association for Behavior Analysis (AzABA). Aaron’s previous experience includes completing a world-renowned autism program with Dr. Ivar Lovaas at UCLA, serving as the Intervention Programs Director at the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center, working directly with families to implement effective behavioral therapy programs for their children, and receiving BCBA mentoring from the Center for Autism & Related Disorders. He has served on several boards, including the Arizona Autism Coalition and the Organization for Nonprofit Executives. Aaron was also selected as one of Arizona’s top “Forty under 40” business professionals in 2008 by the Phoenix Business Journal. In 2009, he completed an intensive training at the Harvard Business School titled, “Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management.” He has provided training and worked one-to-one with hundreds of children with autism, families and therapists, and has led the growth of Arizona Autism United from startup to its current position of several hundred employees providing a variety of ongoing services, supports and therapies to hundreds of families throughout the valley every day.
